Volunteer quotes

I gained knowledge about what being an 'underserved population' actually means, I learned about disorders I didn't know existed, and I learned how to be an effective member of a medical team.

Choose how you want to volunteer

Medically licensed health care providers give Casa the ability to offer quality medical services at a low cost through in-person and telehealth visits.

We provide interpreters so you can communicate with every patient and medical scribes so you can focus on patient care. Our greatest needs are for:

  • Internal medicine physicians, cardiologists, gynecologists, and urologists

  • Mental health professionals

  • Registered nurses for in-clinic and at-home visits

Non-medically licensed volunteers fill a number of important roles at Casa. We have a need for volunteers with and without proficiency in Spanish or other languages.

Using your time and talent in these roles gives you valuable experience in a health care setting. Volunteers who are not licensed health care providers fill these important roles:

  • For those with proficiency in Spanish or other languages:

    • Medical interpreter

    • GUIA navigator

    • GUIA financial assistance specialist

    • Mental health intake specialist

  • For those without proficiency in Spanish or other languages:

    • Medical scribe

    • Administrative volunteers

    • Communication volunteers
